How Farm Trail Visits Work
Four simple steps to planning your countryside experience
Choose Your Trail
Pick from beginner-friendly walks through working farms, bog heritage routes, or farm-to-table experiences. We've got options that aren't too strenuous.
Meet Your Guide
Local guides share real stories about farming life, land management, and rural traditions. They're experienced with groups and genuinely know the countryside.
Experience Authentic Rural Life
Walk working farms, meet farmers, learn about Irish agriculture, and understand how the land shapes rural communities. It's real, not staged.
Enjoy Farm-to-Table Meals
Many visits include food prepared from local ingredients. You're eating what grows on the land you've just walked — that's the whole idea.

Questions About Farm Trails
Everything you need to know before booking
What's the walking difficulty like?
We've got routes for different fitness levels. Some are gentle strolls through flat farmland — maybe 2 kilometers. Others cover more ground with slight hills. All guides adjust pace for the group.
Do I need special equipment?
Just comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We walk in Irish weather — it's not always sunny, so waterproof layers help. Nothing fancy required.
Can groups book together?
Yes. We work with groups of 4-15 people. Family groups, retirement clubs, friends — all welcome. Let us know when you're interested and we'll arrange something suitable.
What about meal times and facilities?
Farm visits typically include refreshments — tea, coffee, and something to eat. Most farmhouses have facilities. Bog trails might be more basic, so bring water and snacks just in case.
When's the best time to visit?
Spring through autumn works well. Summer's warmest but busier. Autumn shows the land differently — harvest time, changing colors. Winter's quiet and peaceful, just colder.
How do I book a trail?
Contact us with your group size, preferred dates, and which trail interests you. We'll confirm availability and walk you through everything. Most bookings happen 2-4 weeks ahead.
